  3. July 11, 2027

Issa & Kasha marry in the mountains of Cappadocia, in the presence of all their loved ones

Why Turkey?

In honour of our roots in Poland and Palestine, we wanted to marry somewhere that bridges our two worlds. Turkey, where Europe meets the Middle East, felt like the perfect place to bring our families together.

The Journey

Our wedding will take place at the Sacred House in Ürgüp, a small town in the heart of Cappadocia. Here’s the route we recommend, but feel free to plan your trip however suits you best.

  1. Istanbul

Fly into Turkey and take a few days to explore the city before the celebrations begin.

  2. Cappadocia

Make your way to Cappadocia. It’s a short domestic flight from Istanbul. Plan to arrive by the afternoon of July 10th.

  3. Sacred House

    July 10–12

Three days of celebration at Sacred House hotel in Ürgüp, Cappadocia.

  4. Turkish Riviera

    July 15–19

    Optional

After the wedding, we’re heading to Kalkan and Kaş on the Mediterranean coast with family. Friends are warmly welcome to join us.

Getting There

Flights

We recommend flying into Istanbul first and spending a few days there, though you can also fly straight to Cappadocia. From Istanbul, a domestic flight to Cappadocia takes about 1h15.

The two closest airports to Sacred House are:

  • Nevşehir Kapadokya Airport (NAV)about 40 minutes by car
  • Kayseri Erkilet Airport (ASR)about 1 hour by car, with more flight options

Airport shuttles and private transfers are easy to book from either airport. If you would like airport transfers arranged for you, please specify in the RSVP.

When to arrive

We suggest arriving in Cappadocia by the afternoon of July 10th at the latest.

  • Dusty blue
  • Sage
  • Lavender
  • Mauve
  • Dusty rose
  • Slate
Deep & rich
  • Navy
  • Emerald

  • Charcoal

Choose fabrics that feel special and stay cool in the heat, like silk, satin, linen or chiffon.

Reserved colours

We kindly ask that you leave white, ivory and cream to the bride, and light neutrals like taupe and champagne to the wedding party.

  • Ivory
  • Cream
The wedding party
  • Light taupe

Sacred House has cobblestone paths and stone steps, so block heels or flats will serve you better than stilettos.

Evenings cool down, so bring a light wrap or jacket.

Good To Know

Weather

July in Cappadocia is hot and dry during the day, often around 30°C, and cools down noticeably in the evening. Bring a light layer for the nights.

An alcohol-free celebration

Out of respect for the Muslim heritage of the groom's family, alcohol will not be served during any of the wedding events. Expect plenty of fresh juices, Turkish tea and good company instead.

Travel documents

Entry requirements depend on your passport. Please check what applies to you well before you book, and make sure your passport is valid for at least six months after your trip.

Money

The local currency is the Turkish lira. Cards are widely accepted, but it's handy to carry some cash for taxis, markets and tips.

Power

Turkey uses European-style two-pin plugs (type C and F) at 230V. Bring an adapter if your devices need one.

Hot air balloons

If you've ever wanted to see Cappadocia from above, sunrise balloon rides run most mornings. They book up in summer, so reserve early.
